Define Micromachining (Define Laser Micromachining)
Making micro-miniaturized devices utilizing manufacturing techniques such as:
- Laser Micromachining
- Micro- CNC Systems
- Micro Replication (Hot embossing, Injection Molding)
- EDM
- Water Jet
- Photolithography
- Additive Processes
Feature sizes typically fall in the range from 1 micron up to several millimeters.
Almost any material is suitable for micromachining such as polymers (PEEK, polyimide, polycarbonate, etc.), metals (stainless steel, NiTinol, copper, aluminum, etc.), silicon wafers, ceramics and glass.
In addition to the primary machining source, high precision motion and fixturing is also implemented in order to meet tight tolerance both in size and placement of the feature being machined.
